Just because Main Session is winding down in days does NOT mean we are winding down on energy or fun!

We had a ton of trips head out over the past few days, making the most of every minute we have left under Old Bald. Campers spent two days climbing at Pickens Nose, hiked to High Falls, and paddled the West Fork of the Chattooga. There was no shortage of adventure, and the campers collected plenty of stories to bring back to Camp afterward.

Our Would-Bes and Camper Captains traveled to the NOC on Monday and Tuesday for Camp Cup! Camp Cup is a friendly competition between summer camps, where paddlers are judged on their time and technique running laps on the Falls, as well as their performance on the slalom course below. Our girls absolutely love this event, and it is always such a wonderful opportunity to build confidence in whitewater, spend time on the river, and challenge themselves. Campers got to try all kinds of boats, take on the Falls, and even tackle the double kayak together! Just as importantly, they got to meet other paddlers their age from camps around the region and spend two days surrounded by people who love being on the water as much as they do.

We ended the day with a new twist on an old classic. For Evening Program, we had "Who's Line" starring... THE KNIGHT CAMPERS!!! All of our oldest campers were so excited to participate in an Evening Program they've been watching their counselors perform since they were little. Who's Line is made up of improv comedy games, with multiple teams trying to earn points (and plenty of laughs) from the audience. After each round, campers scored the performances from 1 to 5, and the team with the highest total came out on top. The Knights fully embraced every game, and it was so much fun watching them put their own spin on one of Camp's longtime favorites.

As we head into the final stretch of Main Session, these campers are making the most of every opportunity. From trips and Evening Programs to time spent with friends around Camp, they're soaking up every second they have left. We can't wait to see what the rest of this last week has in store, but if the past few days are any indication, it's going to be a great finish to a fantastic session!

The weather under Old Bald kept us on our toes today! We started the morning with blue skies and sunshine, and by the afternoon, a thunderstorm had rolled in and completely changed the scene. Luckily, a little rain has never stopped Merrie-Woode campers from having fun. Whether we were soaking up the sunshine or splashing through puddles, spirits stayed high all day long. Some morning highlights included a TON of fun down at the docks, where some of our Starmate Level Boaters put on a synchronized kayaking routine complete with rolls, all set to Gwen Stefani's "The Sweet Escape." Over in Acting, campers got into full costume to perform scenes from The Wizard of Oz. With costumes like that, a photoshoot was obviously necessary to document the occasion!
