JC & CIT PROGRAMS

Our Junior Counselor (JC) and Counselor in Training (CIT) Programs provide a meaningful transition from the camper experience to assuming the responsibilities of a staff member.

JUNIOR COUNSELOR PROGRAM

June & Main Sessions

Our Junior Counselor Program is available to rising high school seniors who are previous Merrie-Woode campers.

The JC Program schedule varies from a traditional camper schedule. JCs partake in leadership sessions with the Staff Director on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. They assist in activity areas and gain teaching experience on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. JCs live in a cabin with each other and two JC Leaders. They can acquire service hours for their work.

Limited spaces are available in our JC Program, and applicants must apply through CampInTouch before September 15. The JC application is the same as the camper application. You will be able to indicate that you are applying to the Junior Counselor Program. Following the submission of applications, JC applicants will receive a follow-up email requesting additional information that will aid in the selection process.

Session Dates Rate
June Session JC Sunday June 1, 2026 - Saturday June 21, 2026 $3,250
Main Session JC Monday, June 23, 2026 - Sunday, July 27, 2026 $4,275

COUNSELOR IN TRAINING PROGRAM

AUGUST Sessions

Our Counselor in Training Program is for rising high school seniors who are previous Merrie-Woode campers wanting to come back to Camp but can only commit to a shorter session. The CIT Program has a rolling application, and we will continue to accept new applicants until all spots are full.

CIT APPLICATION

The CIT Program schedule varies from a traditional staff member schedule. CITs partake in leadership sessions each morning with the Staff Director to cover key information from Staff Orientation. They assist in activity areas and gain teaching experience during four activity periods each day. CITs live in a cabin with campers alongside a counselor who serves as a mentor and role model.

The CIT Program has a rolling application and we will continue to accept new applicants until all spots are full. There is no cost to participate in the program, and all CITs are given a stipend for their work. CITs may choose to receive service hours instead of their stipend.
