Elly serves as Nominating and Governance Committee Chair of the Board of Trustees and was previously Co-Chair of Merrie-Woode’s Centennial Campaign. Her three daughters, Caroline, Sarah, and Izzy, all went to Merrie-Woode, and her husband, Merritt, served as Treasurer of the Merrie-Woode Board of Trustees. Born and raised in New Orleans, Elly graduated from Newcomb College (Tulane University) with a degree in Art History. She works with several not-for-profits, such as YouthRun Nola (an after-school mentorship program for inner-city kids), Second Harvest Food Bank, Live Oak Wilderness Camp (an innovative and intentionally diverse summer camp for New Orleans youth), and The New Orleans Museum of Art. Elly has also served as the President of the Garden Study Club of New Orleans, a member of the Garden Club of America. She has completed 14 marathons and spends a lot of time with her American Saddlebred Buzz.
