What to Bring
Packing ListsCamp Merrie-Woode has special packing lists specific to each session.
The 2018 Camper Forms will be emailed to all parents on Thursday, March 1, with a link to complete all Camper Forms for the summer. Parents, please check your Spam/Junk mailbox folder. Sometimes our emails can be read as bulk mail. If this is the case, be sure to add our email address to your safe senders list. If you still don’t see the email, please contact email@example.com and she will be happy to forward you a copy of the original forms email.
All Camper Forms are due to be submitted by May 1st.
Please read the Parent Handbook (PDF) before arriving at camp to see a full list of our camp policies and procedures. CMW is accredited by the American Camp Association and we meet or exceed all ACA standards.
Campers should bring one trunk and one duffle bag of luggage with them to camp. You can purchase trunks through Everything Summer Camp.
Your daughter may send her luggage to camp up to two weeks in advance of her session. Mark all duffels and trunks clearly with your daughter’s name, Camp Merrie-Woode, and session. Luggage traveling by air should be sent as checked luggage on your daughter’s tickets. Because luggage may arrive at camp after your daughter, she should have a small carry-on bag with a camp uniform, bathing suit, towel, and toiletries so that she can participate in activities upon her arrival at camp.
UPS ™ and FedEx ™ deliver to camp.

CMW will also send trunks and duffels home at the end of the session. Shipping fees will be charged to your daughter’s Stock Shop account.
Merrie-Woode’s infirmary, Cloud Nine, is staffed by our licensed registered nurse(s) and visiting camp physicians. They screen minor complaints, provide first aid, administer medications, and monitor the well-being of the campers and safety of the camp’s facilities. Advanced medical care is available at the nearby Cashiers Medical Center and Highlands-Cashiers Hospital. A camp nurse or director will notify you by telephone if your daughter spends the night in the infirmary, is in need of prescription medication, or in case of injury which requires medical attention.
Merrie-Woode’s infirmary makes every effort to accommodate the special medical needs of the campers enrolled. The directors and parents will work together to evaluate the camp’s ability to meet needs prior to the camper arriving for her session. If necessary, the directors and/or the nurses will contact the parents for further clarification during the session.
For the health and safety of everyone in camp, both prescription and over-the-counter medications are stored in the infirmary. Only medications prescribed by a physician will be administered at camp. A medication chart will be kept for each camper taking medication. Please do not send over-the-counter medications or vitamins with your daughter unless accompanied by your physician’s written instructions.
The Stock Shop is the camp store. It sells articles to campers, including toiletries, stationery, stamps, flashlights, batteries, any other essential items they may need, and Merrie-Woode clothing. It is open on Opening Day and most days after lunch. Parents will specify a spending limit for their daughter’s Stock Shop account prior to the camper’s arrival. Campers will be allowed to charge against the pre-determined limit while they are at camp, so there is no need for any camper to have cash with them. Please talk to your daughter about being fiscally responsible when shopping at the Stock Shop. It is difficult for our counselors to monitor your daughter’s spending.
The CMW Stock Shop is also now on-line! Shopping for your favorite camp items has never been easier! Whether a camper, parent, staff, or alumna, the Stock Shop has something for everyone! Start shopping now!
