“There is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.”
We are thrilled to announce the June Session play of 2018: The Wind in the Willows.
Kenneth Grahame’s classic tale about the thrill-seeking, lovable menace Mr. Toad and his loyal friends comes to life in a new adaptation by Mike Kenny. Taking place many years after the famous battle to recapture Toad Hall, our favorite animals of the English countryside return to tell us the wild tale.
This charming comedy is brought to life through the memories of Mole who recalls a fateful spring day when he was determined to leave his reclusive life behind and explore the world above ground. Mole’s explorations lead him to discover the River Bank, Wild Wood, Toad Hall and even catch a glimpse of the Wide World. More importantly, he finds lifelong friends in the dependable Water Rat, wise old Badger, and the impulsive Mr. Toad. Despite warnings from his concerned friends, Mr. Toad’s insatiable obsession with speeding about in motorcars lands him in serious trouble. With his beloved home under threat from the notorious Chief Weasel and his gang of Wild Wooders, Toad must attempt a daring escape, leading to a series of misadventures.
Buckle your seatbelts, because The Wind in the Willows is speeding onto the Castle stage this summer!
