Follow the Gleam
What a wonderful Sunday it’s been! There is no better way to kick start the week than with a Chapel service surrounded by family and friends; and nothing beats having our very own Glee Club serenade us with their weekly song accompanied by the Ballet Dance class! It was quite the morning service.
The campers were buzzing with excitement for all the activities happening today! Some girls chose to hike White Side and Old Bald, while some prepared for the Rock Climbing competition. Others opted to stay cool inside the dining hall and decorating for our Christmas in July celebration; but the biggest Sunday activity this week was the play, The Little Mermaid! With a total of seventy one campers on and back stage, it’s one of the largest theater productions Camp Merrie-Woode has ever seen. I know the campers are all dying to see it tomorrow and Tuesday.
I was slightly alarmed when around 6 o’clock I scampered down my tree for dinner and saw all kinds of princesses and mystical animals prancing around; but then I realized they were campers! Of course it wouldn’t be a Chapel Sunday without a wacky themed Cook-Out. Today the campers dressed up as their favorite Disney characters and feasted on hot dogs and hamburgers. Afterwards, the campers and I enjoyed a beautiful performance of Follow The Gleam. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our very last Sunday of camp.
