The Great Race

2016_06_28It’s been a rainy morning here at Camp Merrie-Woode, but we haven’t let that stop us from enjoying our activities! After waking up from a nap in the Nature Nook, I followed some campers to the stables and watched as they learned all about the importance of grooming and how to properly care for the horses. I then saw my wolf friend again at the Nature Nook before going to the Archery Filed to watch the girls shoot some arrows. The rain didn’t hold them back! Next, I watch as Land Sports tried to get their volleyball out of the lake. What folly! The pottery class started to make their pinch pots and I can’t wait to see the finished project!

The rain didn’t hinder the boating and swimming classes either. They were having a ball splashing around in the lake. During 4th period, there was a yoga class on the Waterfall Filed. I was tempted to join! After a yummy dinner, everyone joined on the Waterfall Field in their teams and got ready for the Evening Program which was a new game called the Great Race. Each team had to complete a race around camp while completing a different task at each station. It was so much fun; at one station the campers enjoyed soaking their counselors with water balloons. I’m still laughing!

From the hilltops,

About the Author
Tajar is something like a tiger, and something like a jaguar, and something like a badger; and if you should see him once, you would forget what he looked like, but if you should see him twice you would forget to forget what he looked like, and that could be quite fatal. The Tajar lives near Merrie-Woode...in Merrie-Woode and around Merrie-Woode and under Merrie-Woode and over Merrie-Woode. He's a mischievous little creature, filled with folly, who keeps his ear to the ground on all the goings on at camp!
