Plaque Night
The girls woke up this morning and found that they had mysterious red marks on their noses and cheeks. It seems that the Wompus Cat made its way through camp last night. The Wompus Cat is a fictional character that comes through while the girls are sleeping and leaves a little red kiss on their nose or cheeks.
We may only have four days of camp left, but things are just gearing up around here! The Costuming and Stagecraft classes have been working hard to prepare everything for our play, A Wrinkle in Time. Meanwhile, down at the docks, the girls are still learning new tricks in their kayaks and love splashing around the water during the warm days. Other campers are finishing up their arts and crafts projects like jewelry making and weaving and we welcomed the horseback riding overnight back to camp.
Everyone had a blast at tonight’s Evening Program, Plaque Night. Every cabin designs a plaque together to commemorate their summer and add their name to this summer’s home. You may have seen these plaques in the cabin on Opening Day—over the course of several decades, they have collected in each cabin to mark every camper who has once called it home. After studying their own cabin’s plaques all summer, the campers get to add their own to the ranks tonight! As if this wasn’t enough fun, we also got to play some bingo. What a great surprise!
