Happy 4th of July!
We had a wonderful time celebrating Independence Day here at Merrie Woode! After a patriotic breakfast of waffles with strawberries and blueberries, everyone gathered at the flag pole for the flag raising. The Glee Club sang a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem! Then, the whole camp sang patriotic songs together on the shores of Lake Fairfield.
Instead of uniforms, everyone dressed in their most patriotic gear all day long! I was overjoyed to see camp alive with red, white, and blue!
We had a picnic dinner near the waterfront, and then began tonight’s Evening Program: Carnival! Huge inflatables, including a Jousting Ring, a Bouncy House, and a Blow Up Slide were all set up on the Waterfall Field. There was also a Dunk Tank (with Senior Staff!), a Pie Toss, a Dock Party, Face-Painting, a Slip N’ Slide, and so much more! Everyone had a BLAST outside before settling down with glow sticks to watch fireworks over Lake Fairfield! All in all, we had a magnificent and eventful day here at Camp Merrie Woode!
Full of patriotic folly,
Tajar
