It’s a Great Day for the Race!
Hello everyone! We had such an exciting day here at Merrie Woode. Instead of the usual activities, we spent the whole day down at the docks! In the morning, we had the Swim and Boat Meet. It was our usual Green Team versus Grey Team competing in a variety of swim and boat races. From lap races to noodle races to the Du Kum Inn and Mushroom Relay Race, there was something for everyone! Everyone had a blast hanging out all morning together on Lake Fairfield.
In the afternoon we had the annual Would-Be Boat Race! Every Would-Be Captain has been practicing with her crew all week to prepare for the big race! All fourteen crews performed a skit pertaining to the Would-Be’s paddle that she has painted to add to Merrie Woode’s collection. The theme for the afternoon was Christmas in July! Happy July 25th everyone! After skits, it was time for the BIG RACE! It was so exciting to have everyone cheering on their friends.
After such an exciting day, it was nice to gather in Chapel for Vespers this evening. The campers of Bum’s Rest read reflections on their time here at Merrie Woode. It has been an honor to watch these campers grow from the littlest member of Du Kum Inn to the amazing young women we heard from tonight. I do hope to see them all in green polos one day!
Still a little teary,
Tajar
