I love these gentle mountains…

All the activities of the session concluded yesterday, so today after breakfast campers had extra time to begin the packing process. Mountaineering went down the lines in trucks to collect trunks and duffles being shipped—a brand new tactic that saved everyone the big trek to the

Remember the Days You Spent Here…

Today was the last day of activities! And what an exciting day it was. Campers in Sewing Class were finishing up their aprons and wearing them over their middies around camp! It was so fun. Nature Classes were playing Bird-Opoly and discussing all the amazing things they learned

To life, to life, l’chaim!

As soon as I heard we had a visitor, I scampered down to the Nature Nook this morning. Rose from the Balsam Mountain Trust was visiting with some animal friends! She had a screech owl, a type of hawk called Harris’s Hawk, a possum, a milk snake, and a tiny baby alligator! It was

To us and our good fortune!

I was swinging through the trees across camp today when I saw a curious sight… A camper with a bottle on her head! After some investigating, I found three more campers just like her. That’s when I heard tonight was Opening Night of Fiddler on the Roof! Campers who are featured

Home Again, Home Again

This morning I awoke in the trees to some very close-sounding campers; but how did they get so close to my tree? They were doing the High Ropes Course! I watched as they expertly maneuvered the different sections of the course all the way through the Zip Line to the Waterfall

It’s a Great Day for the Race!

Hello everyone! We had such an exciting day here at Merrie Woode. Instead of the usual activities, we spent the whole day down at the docks! In the morning, we had the Swim and Boat Meet. It was our usual Green Team versus Grey Team competing in a variety of swim and boat races.

Look at this stuff, isn’t it neat?

Campers have been all over today! This morning I joined in with a couple of cabins doing Low Ropes. They had a blast navigating the course and had plenty of opportunity for cabin bonding and team building! Many cabins have done Low Ropes this session; it’s always a huge hit with

Just Dance!

What a talent-filled day we had here at Merrie Woode! First, I stopped into Jazz Class. I got a sneak peak at their performances for Talent Night and Final Shows, and it is looking fantastic. They can’t wait to show the whole camp! I then scampered down to the waterfront and
