Believe it or not
It was a beautiful Saturday here at camp! I watched the folly from my perch in the trees as girls cooled off in Lake Fairfield during their boating classes. Everyone’s paddling skills are getting strong! They were having so much fun in Swimming class that I absolutely had to catch a turn on the water slide when no one was looking. Lake Fairfield feels great today! Once I dried off a bit, I went over to visit the Sewing and Knitting classes. In Knitting, most of the girls are making “Herbies,” adorable little stuffed animal creatures. The Sewing classes are making scrunchies! They are a hit with campers. There is always laughter coming from Castle, where Drama Games and Improv both meet. Ever since camp’s “Whose Line is it Anyway?”, the Improv classes have been especially inspired! In Stagecraft, the set for Nancy Drew is really starting to come together! I am amazed at what they can do in such a short period of time.
Evening Program was especially exciting tonight; Captain Rainbow performed at June Session for the first time ever! He is a big hit among the other sessions, but many campers at this session have not had the opportunity to see him perform. Captain Rainbow’s imaginative show always inspires the campers to delve into their own imaginations and be all they can be! What a wonderful Merrie Woode lesson! Of course, the famous Captain Rainbow dance party ensued, complete with balloon hats and lots of goofing around!
Still dancing in the moonlight,
