EVERYTHING THERE WAS GREEN AND GREY…
As I woke up from my slumber, I realized that my favorite tree branch was soaked! It must have been from the rainstorm that came through camp last night. I brushed my fur and zipped down to breakfast. Castle started right on time at 9:15, and one of our older cabins read a devotion about the importance of summer camp before announcements.
In Arts and Crafts, campers are making Journey Cards. Journey Cards are a collage of special photos and items reflecting on the journey of growing up. Down in ceramics, the girls use Merrie-Woode virtues as inspiration for what they create with clay. All of these items will be displayed in the art show in the next few days for all of camp to see.was soaked! It must have been from the rainstorm that came through camp last night. The girls in archery were practicing their aiming technique today as they shot rounds of arrows at the targets that were twenty five feet away! I even heard cheers when some of the girls shot their first bulls-eyes! Down at the Nature Nook, the Wolf Man taught the girls about the mannerisms, habitats, and life styles of wolves. He even brought one of his wolves for the girls to play with!
Later in the afternoon, I headed down to the docks where ten campers were participating in a river safety course. Most of the girls were in kayaks practicing wet exits and forward strokes. They leave tomorrow for the Upper French Broad, and from the positive experience that I had last week, I know that they will have a blast!
Tonight’s evening program was Movie Night. The girls gathered in their PJs and brought blankets to Castle to watch the Disney Hit, “Tangled.” Giggles were heard throughout the night as the girls munched on popcorn throughout the movie. I was able to snag a box and watch from my favorite spot in the rafters.
After a day full of activities, a movie was the perfect way to end the night!
