BLUE SKIES SMILIN’ AT ME; NOTHIN’ LIKE BLUE SKIES, YOU’LL SEE
It’s hard to believe that today is already Wednesday! It feels like yesterday that the campers and counselors were dressed in white for Sunday. It was another beautiful morning deep in the mountains; the sun shone brightly on Lake Fairfield. As the girls were heading to clean cabins and get ready for morning Castle, I saw multiple canoes heading back from their campouts. Campouts are required for each cabin and are a great way for campers and counselors to bond.
This morning, mountaineering lead an all day hike starting in Panthertown and finishing back into camp! The girls hiked about ten miles, which is extremely impressive; I can’t even leap through the trees for one mile! Another trip that left camp was a “hiddle,” which is half paddling and half hiking. This is a great opportunity for girls who love to get the best of both worlds.
Down at the docks, Would-Bes were running the slalom course, girls trying to pass high stern were landing canoes gracefully next to the dock, and the wind was perfect for sailing. A little known fact is that I run the quickest slalom course, but campers and staff always forget to forget my speedy time.
Tonight’s evening program was “The Dating Game.” This evening program is a spinoff of old TV dating game shows in which an eligible bachelor or bachelorette is seeking a new companion. This is put on by the counselors, and they had all of the campers in fits of giggles with a fun and crazy dance party at the end. I was dancing on the roof and am exhausted from all of that dancing! Hopefully all of my moving around will help me sleep soundly tonight.
Well, I am “tuck”ered out. Night night!
